The Art of Cast Paper
Cast paper sculpture has quickly become on of the world’s most exciting art forms. In essence, cast paper is a combination of fine sculpting techniques and the ancient science of paper-making. A highly skilled artist translates the original design into a "bas-relief" sculpture. When the desired effect has been achieved, a master mold is created. From the master mold, each of the limited releases is produced using a mixture of acid-free 100% cotton linter, which has been cut and beaten to exact specification. Individually pulled and colored by hand, each cast paper sculpture will have its own unique characteristics, a common element to all fine art originals.
